Johanna & Alexander
Warm, intimate and cosy autumn wedding
Johanna & Alexander met back in September 2011, in September 2017 they got engaged and in September 2018 their first son was born. As you can tell, September is definitely their month and, therefore, it was only natural that they would have their wedding in September. The 26th of September 2020 was the big day!
From the beginning they were planning a larger wedding but when the covid pandemic hit early in the same year, they had to replan and adjust their initial ideas.
Ceremony & Reception
The wedding ceremony was held in the church were their son was baptised and afterwards, the guests were invited in for coffee, Prosecco and cake in the parish house. Later in the evening, the intimate reception (which kept the amount of guests low to fit the restrictions) took place in the greenhouse at Bockholmen, creating a cosy yet elegant vibe. Perfect for the season!
Johanna & Alexander knew they wanted to serve the wedding cake during the mingling, but when they had to change their plans, logistical issues made them unsure if it would be possible. Even if the parish hall was available, it wasn’t very appealing, and they lacked the time to fix it themselves. That’s when we came in as stylists.
With tulle draping, burgundy coloured linen napkins tied with string, and plenty of small vases with dried flowers, we transformed the hall without adding a lot to the budget. Johanna says: “Fortunately, we found Karolina Wahlman from Wahlman Weddings, who professionally transformed the space into a cosy spot. I highly recommend her to anyone in need of a wedding coordinator and stylist.”
Style & Decor
Johanna and Alexander's autumn wedding had a rustic, nature-inspired aesthetic. It was beautifully planned and designed to capture the essence of fall with the decor featuring warm, earthy tones such as deep reds, oranges, and browns. Lots of greenery added freshness and Johanna had asked to incorporate dried flowers.
The planning revolved around simplicity and personal touches, making the event feel intimate and unique to the couple's style. Personal details, such as handwritten signs and DIY elements, enhanced the overall experience, ensuring that the wedding felt both meaningful and deeply connected to the couple’s vision.
Inside the greenhouse, some string lights and candles illuminated the evening, adding to the romantic atmosphere.
Their wedding blended nature and love, with personal details making the event unique.
As the bride Johanna said to the wedding blog Sisters in Law: “Bockholmen hav och restaurang blev plasten för vår bröllopsmiddag.
Note from Karolina: ‘It was an honour to help Johanna & Alexander decorate, and it was here I first worked with Madeleine from BloomspourMoi, whom I later founded Atelier M&K with.’
