A whimsical celebration near nature

Rae and Pontus’ celebration of love simply had to reflect how whimsical and cool they truly are. It needed to be uniquely them and showcase their beautiful story, linking back to their fortuitous first encounter in London many years ago.
When they first met in the English capital, it was by accident. Pontus had decided to go on a date whilst on holiday, and that was that. They immediately saw the spark, and Pontus started travelling to London as often as possible to be with Rae.
A true moment of: “when you know, you know!”

The Location

Rae and Pontus knew what they were looking for: they wanted a rustic and rural feeling to their celebration, but not to barn-y. Finally, we found the gorgeous Hermanstorpsgården in the very south of Sweden, near Malmö.
They immediately fell in love with the feeling of it, and with the endless possibilities of what we could do with the space.

The Wedding Day

All the guests were welcomed in the centre of Malmö by an enormous red bus, double decked just like the real thing. This was the very first wink at Rae’s hometown, and at the place where they met and fell in love. The couple’s loved ones were just thrilled to be picked up in such a unique and fun way, they were ecstatic the whole ride!

The ceremony was held in the garden, where Rae and Pontus exchanged their own vows. This moment is always emotional, but I have rarely seen guests cry out of happiness in such a way. It was tender to see, and definitely a memorable part of the day for everyone.
After the ceremony, the guests and the couple took advantage of the Swedish sun to mingle and taste the delicacies offered: local cheese from Skåne, excellent Swedish wine and plenty of charcuterie.

The wedding dinner definitely deserves its own spotlight as the couple was really looking forward to having Asian food served at their wedding. Their passion for Asian food is almost as big as their passion for unique cocktails, and they really wanted to implement it during their big day.
So, we called the head-chef of the best Asian restaurant in Malmö, who kindly agreed to cater the evening to everyone’s appreciation. Needless to say, everyone was incredibly happy and the couple loved having this detail incorporated into their festivities.

The night continued with custom made cocktails inspired by their own favourite ones in London’s pubs, where they spent time during their dating days. The lounge area allowed people to mingle and chat, while a talented live band played the couple’s favourite songs, which got everyone up and dancing.
A small but mighty group, this was. The space felt packed, and the feeling was that of an underground, incredibly cool club where everyone was having the best time of their lives, exactly as the couple wished.

Styling & Decor

The personalisation of this wedding is what made it so incredibly fabulous and cool, other adjectives do not suffice to render the picture. Rae and Pontus had the vision of reuniting their closest loved ones in a small venue with a lot of personality, just like the two of them. The feeling was to be of a family gathering, with heartfelt vibes, and memories that everyone would truly cherish forever.
Implementing such personal details reminded everyone of the couple’s history: meeting in London was like the starts aligned, but their relationship was about intention and shared meanings, shared and treasured memories built in Sweden and in London’s pubs and cocktail bars.

The decorations at Hermanstorpsgården were elegant but simple, with local flowers adorning the long big tables that seated everyone, really family-style.
